Not to be Worn

A windy March evening and I walk into Browns Bar and Cafe: a warm and welcoming place, with soft oranges from the candle light and the local art work on the walls. Nearly all the tables were taken up by people talking over a pint or a glass of wine with an acoustic set playing in the background. It was such a nice atmosphere.

I was asked to photograph one act in particular for they were wearing American Apparel brand Not to be Worn, designed by Hareena Liddar. It was Helen’s (the singer’s) birthday and she had her family and friends sat right in front of her set giving her a huge sense of support too, having a bit of a joke with her throughout.

I wanted to encapsulate this atmosphere: band photography is a little limited, so I wanted to try and get the artwork on the walls and have the colours really come out in vibrance.

I had such a nice time enjoying what music some of the locals had to offer at the same time as speaking to some new people.

Hareena and I have selected sixteen from the nearing one hundred photographs to appear on her blog and for her website. She has asked me to continue photographing for her and Not to be Worn.
